Royal Thai Police pay a visit to counterparts in royal town

EmailFacebook0THE Kuala Kangsar district police Hari Raya celebration was made extra special with the presence of their counterparts from the Royal Thai Police.The group of 85 Thai police officers and personnel, led by Provincial Police Region 9 commissioner Police Lieutenant-General Pisit Pisuthsak, had briefly stopped over at the royal town while on their way to Genting Highlands on Thursday.At hand to welcome them was outgoing Perak police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan.In his speech, SDCP Mohd Shukri said the group’s stopover was part of a reciprocal visit.“The Perak police contingent had made a visit to Thailand last year and I am very delighted to welcome them here today.“This visit is a reflection of a good working relationship and understanding between the Thai and Malaysian police contingents,” he said.The close working relationship, he added, extended to the monitoring of the Thai-Malaysian border in Betong and Pengkalan Hulu.Pol Lt-Gen Pisit said the purpose of their trip was to see Malaysia besides paying their Malaysian police friends a visit.“We hope to see how they work and also strengthen our working relationship,” he added.The guests were treated to Raya delights such as beef and chicken rendang, ketupat and peanut gravy.
